Cooking with cast iron - myths


I found this interesting article: and I have a few thoughts on it. It’s a few years old but it brings up some good points.

Do you think that most people have misconceptions about cast iron? I guess I didn’t realize that some of the myths mentioned were things that a lot of people actually thought. Are there any “myths” that you think is actually true? For example, I personally try not to use soap on my cast iron and I don’t recommend that others do either? Are there any other myths that you would add to this list or something you wish everyone knew about cast iron?
